Welcome to Bute Crafts
Bute offers constant inspiration with its beaches, hills and even weather! Since coming here to live in 2000 I have used paper, wood, fabric, thread, found and natural objects to respond to the land and seascapes around me. I am happiest working with cheap, readily available materials. Most of my work has stitching as an integral part of it but I often tear, burn and or paint fabric first. Not having to worry about the cost leaves me free to experiment and to start again if something doesn’t work out!
I believe the urge to create is a fundamental part of being human but, as we grow away from childhood, we can lose touch with our creative feelings. As adults, we may need to be led back to what we once enjoyed naturally – playing! If you fancy trying something creative then I have tried to make the kits and packs available through this website good value and fun. Your feedback (good or bad) is always appreciated.
If you might be interested in taking part in future workshops you can either subscribe to my newsletter or keep an eye on the news page.
